Carl Rogers
Roger's believed people grow through an environment with three conditions, genuineness, acceptance, and empathy. Rogers thought people needed to be genuine with themselves by being open and true to the people around them. Acceptance is also important in promoting growth and personality. Rogers used unconditional positive regard, which uses an attitude of grace and accepting our failings. Rogers also promoted the idea that empathy helped nurture growth. Empathy helps people share feelings and become closer. Rogers believed that these three conditions help people care for others and be happier. This will cause a person to become more likely to achieve their full potential.
